Construction Positions (DC Builds DC)

Are you interested in a career in Construction? DC Builds DC is hosting a Career Event on April 30th from 8am-12pm for entry-level positions in skilled labor, electrician, carpenter, HVAC, Plumber, and Field Engineer. These are entry level roles into sustainable careers in construction with long-term opportunities for promotion and upward movement into management or leadership.

DC Fire and EMS Cadet Program (DC FEMS)

The Fire Cadet Program is a one-year program that provides District of Columbia residents, between the ages of 18 and 21 years old, the opportunity to become members of the D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department (DC FEMS). During the program, Cadets attain their National Registry EMT, Firefighter I & II, and Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations certificates. The Cadets participate in a department rotation where they are exposed and acclimated to all aspects of the DC FEMS Department.

AWS Cloud Practitioner (UDC WDLL)

The UDC Division of Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning (WDLL) provides District of Columbia residents with FREE job skills training that enables them to pursue employment opportunities. WDLL focuses on industries that provide the highest number of employment opportunities within the District and in the metropolitan area. Classes are offered in-person, virtual, or hybrid depending on the course and the semester. The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner validates foundational, high-level understanding of AWS Cloud, services, and terminology. This is a good starting point on the AWS Certification journey for individuals with no prior IT or cloud experience switching to a cloud career or for line-of-business employees looking for foundational cloud literacy.
