Food Service Operations (Carlos Rosario)

If you are ready to take the next step in your hospitality career, this course is for you! This is an excellent option for applicants currently working in an entry-level cooking position that display the desire to build proficiency in all stations of a food service operation. This 5-month skills training program will prepare our students for a career in food services, restaurants, and the hospitality industry. The course emphasizes workplace organizational skills, food production, menu planning, customer service skills, and team-building skills that can be applied in a wide variety of settings. Classes are in-person at the Sonia Gutierrez Campus- Morning (Monday-Thursday: 9:00am-12:30pm)Evening (Monday-Thursday: 5:30-9:00pm) Course Content Summary: Production planning & preparation, Recipe scaling, Station management, Menu development, Nutrition planning, Kitchen communications, Catering essentials, Customer Service, Employment Readiness, Digital Literacy, Sexual Harassment Prevention & Unconscious Bias training in the Hospitality Industry. Must have basic culinary experience or successful completion of the Food Service Principles course
