Start your apprenticeship in an exciting, growing trade. Every day, Technology Services play a critical role in supporting communication, security, and economic growth. By completing this track, you become a certified professional who designs and implements the communication pathway to allow network devices to interact with each other. Network devices can include everything from Wi-Fi and telecommunications devices to audiovisual and security systems. In just three years, you'll become a Telecom Journeyperson. Minimum of 480 hours of instruction and 4,800 hours of on-the-job training. For the first two years, attend class once every other week while working with electrical contractors in voice-data-video installations. In the last year, attend electives and continue your on-the-job training.

Position/Opportunity: Technology Services Apprenticeship

Salary: Up to $62,100 annually, plus $23, 963 in health and retirement benefits

Requirements:

  • 18 Yrs old at the time the apprenticeship class starts (You can apply earlier).
  • High school graduate.
  • Taken and passed at least Algebra 1
  • Legally allowed to work in the United States.
  • Pass an aptitude test (Algebra 1 level math and Reading Comprehension).
  • Pass a background check
  • Pass a drug screening that includes marijuana.

  2. In your Local 26 TradeSchool account, click the application tab to start the process. Select the program you want to apply for.
  3. After you have uploaded documents to your TradeSchool application, ask your previous/current school to send a copy of your transcript to the JATC. For more details on this process, see the JATC website.
