Salon Manager (Bennett Career Institute)
The Manager Course at Bennett Career Institute is a comprehensive 600-clock-hour program designed to prepare students for the District of Columbia State Board Examination. Students will apply the skills learned in the general cosmetology course and gain knowledge and understanding of salon operations, including decorating, record-keeping, salon advertising, and merchandising. Additionally, students will become familiar with common salon products and gain practical experience in dealing with the public. To obtain a Manager's License from the District of Columbia Board of Barber and Cosmetology, students must successfully complete a total of 2100 clock hours of training, which includes the 1500 clock hours required to become a cosmetology operator. Additionally, students must have served as a licensed operator for at least six (6) months. After completing the program and passing the DC State Board of Cosmetologists/Barber-Stylist Instructor Examination for licensure, students will be qualified to pursue employment as instructors in a school of cosmetology or barbering.
