Learn how to prepare, present, serve, and manage food — and get the skills to pass the certified food protection manager exam. This program is 12 weeks long, M-F, 11am - 5pm. UPO courses offer a minimum $900 attendance stipend. Some trainings may offer DOES pay, tokens for transportation, and access to UPO resources like housing and daycare.

Position/Opportunity: Culinary Arts Professional (UPO)

Requirements:

    • Must be 18+ years of age, have a DC ID, Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, HS Diploma or GED, Proof of Residency, and Proof of Income or Certify No Income.   
    • CASAS Assessment required. Can be conducted at both intake sites and during registration. 
    • Background check, drug test, and mental health screening.

Enrollment dates for FY25 are: 

January 2025, April 2025, and June 2025.
