Commercial Driver’s License CDL (UPO)
Our commercial driver’s license (CDL) program can get you behind the wheel of a tractor trailer, Metrobus, school bus, dump truck, or other commercial vehicle. The program is 6 weeks, M-F, 9am - 5pm. UPO courses offer a minimum $900 attendance stipend. Some trainings may offer DOES pay, tokens for transportation, and access to UPO resources like housing and daycare.

- Must be 18+ years of age, have a DC ID, Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, HS Diploma or GED, Proof of Residency, and Proof of Income or Certify No Income.
- CASAS Assessment required. Can be conducted at both intake sites and during registration.
- Background check, drug test, and mental health screening.

To express interest, please email Kenny Carroll (kcarroll@upo.org) including name and program of interest. Candidate will make an appointment to enroll with a social worker. There will be a cohort starting January 2025, followed by additional cohorts starting in April 2025 and June 2025.
