Advanced Transportation Service Worker (Potomac Job Corps)

Job Corps is the largest job training and education program in the country, free to low-income 16- to 24-year-olds. You can get the experience and skills you need to start a career that's right for you, go on to college, or join the military. Job Corps also offers tuition-free housing, meals, basic health care, a living allowance, and career transition assistance. Work in the transportation industry in places like hotels, docks or ships in specific roles such as: A ticket agent or travel clerk to take and confirm bookings, issue tickets, and assist with itineraries, rates and tours A freight, stock and material mover to load and unload cargo from docks, delivery trucks, ships or containers A cargo or freight agent to keep records of inbound and outbound shipments using radio scanners, compute freight costs, and work with invoices The credentials you will earn ... This is the first level of Advanced Training offered in the Transportation Service Worker series. Students who complete a Job Corps Advanced Transportation training program are eligible to attain the following credentials: OSHA 10-Hour certification Office Skills, Clerical Skills and Software Skills (OPAC) certification
