Student Success Coach (City Year)

See all opportunities

City Year is an education-based nonprofit that focuses on bridging the achievement gap that exists between what a child is capable of, and what the school is able to provide for them. We work in high need schools and communities as student success coaches, giving both academic and behavioral support. Academically, we give tier 1 support within the classrooms as well as hosting small group ELA/math-based interventions. Behaviorally, we provide weekly social emotional development in small groups. We are located in 29 cities across the country and here in DC we are partnering with 14 schools. We place our AmeriCorps members on a team at one of our schools where they serve in the program for 10months. Program participants will receive the Segal Education Award ($7,395.00) once they have completed the 10month program.
