Advanced Internship Program (AIP)

OSSE’s Advanced Internship Program (AIP) is an opportunity for Career and Technical Education (CTE) students to participate in paid and credit-bearing internships aligned with their CTE program of study during the school year. Through AIP, students can gain valuable real-world work experience, receive professional mentorship, and are supported to develop transferable workplace skills.

AIP Eligibility

To be eligible for AIP, students must:

  • Be a DC resident
  • Be a DC high school senior or junior (priority given to seniors)
  • Have completed at least the first and second-level courses in their CTE program of study

Student Benefits

Program Requirements

To participate in AIP, students must:

  • Register by the deadline
  • Submit an updated resume
  • Participate in interview process with potential employers
  • Complete required onboarding steps
  • Attend student orientation and pre-internship programming

AIP is made possible with the support of host employers who work with student interns. AIP host employer registration is currently closed. Please check back in Spring 2025 to register as a host employer for the 2025-26 AIP internship cycle!
